Our Culture - African & Caribbean Day | Rotation Dance Exchange (Battles +Workshops)
Day 1: African & Caribbean Day | August 8, 2025
A yearly Afro and Asian centric platform that brings together practitioners and communities from across the UK.
This cross-generational community festival celebrates dance, music, and food from African and Asian diasporas, creating an inclusive space for people of African, Asian, and non-African/Asian heritage. The event showcases both the vibrant traditions of African & Caribbean movement styles and the dynamic energy of the global Korean Pop (K-Pop) dance movement, highlighting their cultural roots, evolution, and technical qualities.
Aligned with the mission of our Global Majority Dance Studio, the festival emphasizes the importance of authentic technique and a deeper historic understanding of African movement and music. We aim to support individuals and organizations both within and outside the African diaspora in practicing these forms responsibly, with respect for their cultural significance.
