A Film screening celebrating the different issues the GM Systems Changers community represents, Elevate Young Minds applies film to bring access to difficult conversations and social movements. Since the creation of AFF, we have always aimed to apply the power of film to share stories, history, knowledge, ideas, and emotions. This screening invites you to celebrate the GM system changer through provoking, challenging and comedic selection of films discuss the following issues and more in an intersectional manner.

1. CLIMATE CHANGE 2. INEQUALITY 3. MENTAL HEALTH 4. POVERTY 5. RACISM

This screening will star DISPLACED

Displaced is the cinematic reimagining of Akeim Toussaint Buck’s one-man dance theatre show: ‘Windows of Displacement’. Co-Directed and Produced by Ashley Karrell, the film continues the exploration of themes such as: displacement, race, culture and imperialism. Focussing more on the African Diaspora via the settings of the inner-city community. Taking aspects of the live work and re-contextualising them in real-life spaces that support in amplifying this feeling of displacement. Giving the viewer a fraction of the feeling of being displaced people. Visually captivating with striking imagery and virtuoso dance, ‘Displaced’ takes the viewer on a journey calling for reflection and global change. Black Youth Forum presents My Art & My Voice, With in the GM Systems Changers and Lankelly Chase -Dream Weavers Gathering 2022.

We would like to invite you and your fellow dreamers and weavers, colleagues and collaborators, friends, and family to a Sunday gathering in the heart of Manchester. We invite people of all culture and Race to engage in this public forum.

This forum consists of two practical discussion and exploration point.

1 - Youth voice exploring the Young Manchester’s Tracking Racism Injustice (TRI) report on youth and playsector.

2 - The exploration of Black masculinity and Femininity to inform Policy changes, and the further development of an Educational -performance - Exploring The Man.

The research committed to working with others to tackle racial injustice that impacts on children and young people’s lives and to establish clear, coherent approaches to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within the Youth and Play sector.

This session will be used to explore the practical tools that can be implemented to fight systematic racist structures

The second half of this forum invited us to explore black masculinity and Femininity, the forum will inform by Edenamiuki Aiguobasinmwin performance and policy research project. ‘Exploring the Man’

By diving into the Black Masculinity and Femininity together we're able to paint a wider picture of the issues impacting young black men and women due to the intersectionality of Racism.
