‘Driving Resilience, Equity and Skills for an Inclusive Future’
Reflection by Vanessa
Learning at The Commonwealth Education Minister Meeting 2024 London.
Education, Health, and Finance concerning the Youth: Attention and empowerment to the youth is ever-growing and elevating to new levels as the deep complexities of the rabbit hole are gradually being uncovered in multi-dimensional aspects, which impacts youth critically.
We explored the impact that health and finance can have on youth development as well as their sharpness towards their education- we uncovered a phenomenon in statistical numbers, gender targets, sustainable remedies, and long-term solutions. This insight led to healthy conversations between the delegates of sub- Saharan Africa and Europe, through validated research and data analysis. As a young
leader and global ambassador, I was observant to digest indispensable knowledge from the Caribbean and African diaspora.
One prominent recognition we highlighted was the launching of The Year of Youth launched in 2023: this promotes youth entrepreneurship, digital skills education, youth apprenticeship and youth mainstreaming participation.
It was an astounding platform to embark on as it headed pledge to make health systems strong enough to withstand the shocks of future pandemics, boost child protection and safeguarding resources, collaborate with development agencies to boost aid and support data collection so that interventions are targeted, and evidence based.
My perspective was wholly changed at the end of this thought-provoking meeting: these keys factors hold an ample amount of weight to a child and can be significant components to impact their education abilities, social skills, speech, and emotions.
